Welcome.
I'm so grateful you're here.

Speech-Language Pathologist with a Special Love for Literacy

Farrin McCue is a licensed speech-language pathologist with a special interest in literacy and dyslexia intervention services. She is qualified to evaluate and treat articulation, language, fluency, voice, literacy, and social communication abilities. Since 2007 she has provided diagnostic and therapeutic services in a variety of settings, including public and private schools, learning centers, private practice, and acute care/rehabilitation hospitals. Services include comprehensive evaluations, personalized therapy, and family support.

From Farrin:

"I feel such immense gratitude for the chance to work and play with children to support their development in life. My charge is to offer high-quality, evidence-based therapy services...but also to uplift and inspire my students to grow and flourish in an atmosphere of love...which I believe nurtures learning immeasurably. My joy is helping a child find their voice - whether it be in reading, spelling, speech, language, or simply learning how to make a friend."

Screenings

Farrin offers brief screenings in speech sound production, language, and literacy to determine whether a more comprehensive assessment is needed.

Comprehensive Speech and Language Evaluations

Standardized and non-standardized assessment measures are used to identify areas of concern and to guide a detailed and individualized treatment plan.

Dyslexia Assessment

Farrin utilizes assessment measures to create a literacy profile that identifies those who have characteristics consistent with a dyslexia diagnosis.

Orton-Gillingham Reading and Spelling

Children with dyslexia or suspected dyslexia need specific and direct instruction in reading and spelling. Farrin specializes in addressing literacy challenges and uses multi-sensory structured language education (using sight, sound, movement, and touch) to help children connect language to words.

Speech and Language Therapy

Every child is beautiful and unique! Farrin provides therapy in the following areas:

  • Articulation Disorders

  • Phonological Disorders

  • Literacy (reading and spelling)

  • Language Disorders

Family Support

Family members are an integral and required part of therapy. Caregivers are encouraged to attend sessions when possible and are updated frequently on progress and ways to support their child at home.

Success Stories

"Farrin has a light hearted approach, and a wonderful laugh, which puts the children at ease, but at the same time she has an extremely sharp mind and pushes them to grow and develop. She holds them to high standards and believes in them. I would wholeheartedly recommend Farrin to anyone looking for a fantastic and motivating specialist who has an open heart, and is willing to work with parents in a supportive, and loving environment!"
